A.K.A. Transcript(Flashback - Night, Darcy and Hawkins leaving a restaurant)

Darcy: “You’re drunk.”

Hawkins: “Yes I am Darcy.” (He kisses her) “Yes I am.”

(They go to get into a taxi, Hawkins sees a man he knows across the street)

Darcy: “What is it Rob? Rob? Rob?”

(End of flashback - Hawkins is lying in bed alone)

(Hawkins kitchen he is eating cereal - Sarah’s palm beeps)

Message: When can we meet again? We’re growing impatient.

(Hawkins closes the palm - Hawkins leaves the house and puts a paperclip in the door)

(Streets of Jericho - Jake is walking Emily to school)

Jake: Is all this really worth it for six kids?

Emily: Six kids and a conference room, it’s not Harvard but it’s a start.

Jake: I meant for you.

Emily: I think its time we try to get things back to normal.

Jake: I gotta be honest with you, if I’m a kid going to school isn’t exactly high on my list of priorities these days.

(Jimmy walks up)

Jimmy: Hey.

Jake: Hey Jimmy.

Jimmy: Hey, can I barrow you for a few minutes? I need your help.

Emily: I gotta get you a bat signal or something.

(Emily walks away)

Jake: What’s wrong?

Jimmy: Um… you remember last week on the radio broadcast they said the terrorists used fake FBI badges to move through security?

Jake: Yeah.

Jimmy: I’ve seen one of those badges.

Jake: Where?

(Hawkins House - Jimmy breaks open the door)

Jake: I never went to law school, but I’m gonna go ahead and guess this is breaking and entering.

Jimmy: It’s called probable cause.

Jake: it’s called paranoid abusive authority. Come on lets go before he comes home and catches you prying up his floor boards.

Jimmy: Look, the terrorists had FBI badges, Robert Haskins has an FBI badge. You think that’s just coincidence?!

Jake: Maybe he’s FBI. Please tell me you thought of that.

Jimmy: I did alright and I asked his family and they all say he’s FBI alright. But when they said it they all had this look on their face like there was something that they weren’t saying.

Jake: Sorta like the look I have on my face right now?

Jimmy: Look, I have a hunch and I was right OK. Now he’s out on patrol, he’s not gonna be back for a while so… come on.

(Jimmy walks further in the house - Jake notices the paperclip and picks it up)

(Hawkins Basement)

Jake: Did you bust this lock?

Jimmy: Uh…yeah.

(They go into Hawkins secret room)

Jake: Alright, yeah this is kinda weird but if he’s FBI isn’t this what his basement would look like?

Jimmy: Well, that’s, that’s what I said till I saw this.

(He opens a drawer that contains multiple passports)

Jake: Does Gray know about this?

Jimmy: No, I wanted to get a second opinion before I told anyone. What do we wanna do?

(Hawkins walks up to his front door, sees paperclip still in door)

(Hawkins goes in his basement notices something is wrong - Jake walks up behind him with a gun in his hands)

Jake: Don’t move. Who are you? Hand it over, nice and slow. (Hawkins takes out his gun) Slide it over. (Hawkins slides the gun to Jake)

Hawkins: What the hell are you doin here?

Jake: Did you wipe out twenty-three American cities?

Hawkins: Hey, get outta my house.

Jake: Answer the question?

Hawkins: Why would you ever think that?

Jake: You got a working generator and a food supply, its like you knew the attacks were coming.

Hawkins: I’m gonna give you ten seconds to get… (He walks towards Jake)

Jake: Back up! Jimmy knows I’m here, if I don’t call him off when he gets back your gonna have a lot more people than me to deal with.

Hawkins: I’m an FBI agent Jake.

Jake: Yeah, that’s what I heard, problem is the radios reporting that the terrorists used forged FBI badges to get their bombs into position. What is that room? How are you involved in all of this? I need to know.

(Town Hall)

Emily: Five months ago this was a map of our country, now it’s an antique. It’s a picture of the way things used to be. Right now all we’re sure of is this, but this is where we start to rebuild. So how do we do it hmm? How? We look to our history, we study the people that came before us.

(Student raises his hand)

Emily: Yes?

Student: Are you gonna take attendance?

Emily: No.

(Student gets up)

Emily: Where are you going?

Student: My moms at home right now trying to grow beets out of our bathtub so we can eat next month, this stuff isn’t important.

(Student leaves and everyone but Allison follows him)

Emily: Well, I guess schools out early today. You don’t have to stay if you don’t want.

Allison: I don’t think I should be hanging around at home right now, so I guess I’m stuck here.

(Richmond Farm - Mimi is sitting outside with a hatchet and a chicken)

Mimi: So its come to this. Now I want you to know this has nothing to do with you personally. I’m sure your wonderful but lets be honest here, you’re the one that lays the fewest eggs and I think we told all of you that this was going to happen. I believe I made myself perfectly clear in that regard. Alright, the thing is if you knew me at all you would see how funny this is cause this is so no my thing; no this is Stanley’s thing. It’s just, I’m really hungry and I don’t want to get into the whole circle of life business, but I just cannot eat anymore sprouts. Ok, enough stalling, here we go. (She stands up and sits right back down) Here’s my concern, I’ve heard stories about how you’re gonna react to this and if I see half of you running around well I just know I’m gonna freak. So if you could do your best to minimize that part of it well I just would really appreciate it. (She looks at the chicken) Sprouts it is.

(Look out point in the forest - Johnston’s alone - Harry walks up)

Harry: Johnston, you really out here looking for deer? I thought they were all gone.

Johnston: What do you want Harry?

Harry: You think you could come into city hall today?

Gray’s still out and it would be nice to have someone around who knows what their doin.

Johnston: Not my job anymore now get lost, I’m trying to shoot some deer.

Harry: Just be for a day or two.

Johnston: You’re startin to look an awful lot like a deer Harry.

(Hawkins Basement)

Hawkins: I was in the FBI for fifteen years. I worked law enforcement after college and than I joined the Bureau.

Jake: Where’d you go to school?

Hawkins: Georgetown, do you want to see my ring?

Jake: The FBI, what were you working on?

Hawkins: I was sent here to monitor phone calls made in the area to a suspected terrorist cell.

Jake: And what’d you find out?

Hawkins: Nothin, trail went dead. We about done here?

Jake: Not even close. (Jake looks at a picture of Sarah on the wall) Tell me about her, Sarah Mason.

(Jake has his back to Hawkins, Hawkins slowly takes a gun out from a drawer - points it at Jake - he notices the gun is empty)

Hawkins: You’re pretty thorough.

Jake: Also took care of the one in the cabinet and the one behind the water heater. There’s only one loaded gun in this house and it’s mine. Sit down. Arms behind you. (Jake handcuffs him) Tell me about Sarah, Jimmy said she was a cop in St. Louis, she working with you? Against you? Who are these people?

Hawkins: You are making a serious mistake, I am a Federal Officer.

Jake: Really? (He opens the drawer containing the fake passports) You sure you’re not Robert Wheeler, State Department? Or how about Robert Snider, Columbus P.D.? Commander Robert Richmond, Navel Intelligence. None of these are real and neither is that badge. Who the hell are you? Who do you work for?

Hawkins: You do not want to know what I know.

Jake: I think I can handle it.

Hawkins: Really?

Jake: Yeah.

Hawkins: Cause I can barely handle it and I was trained for this.

Jake: You can tell me or you can tell the whole town.

Hawkins: Alright, but once you hear this you are a part of it Jake and there is no going back.

Jake: Who do you work for?

Hawkins: CIA. Sarah Mason and I were apart of an off the books team, we we’re tracking the bombs used in the attacks.

Jake: Where did they come from, the bombs?

Hawkins: The U.S. Government brought them here. See after the Soviet Union fell neglected military in the Soviet Republic started sellin their nuclear stock piles on the black market. So the CIA started an operation to get that material by any and all means necessary. But a few years ago a shipment disappeared on its way to the DOE Storage complex in Oakridge and that is where my CIA team came in.

Jake: Why you?

Hawkins: I’m the best at what I do.

Jake: And what is that?

Hawkins: Satellite Installation.

(Flashback into Hawkins life - He walks into an office building)

Hawkins: “I have a two o’clock appointment with Mr. Higgins.”

Secretary: “I’ve been inside all day, how’s the weather out there?”

Hawkins: “You know, it looks like rain.”

(She buzzes him in)

Hawkins: “Thank you.”

(Office Room - People are sitting around a table)

Hawkins: “Hello Victor.”

Victor: “Hawkins, I believe you know everyone here.”

Hawkins: “Hey.”

Victor: “Uh, except this young lady.”

Hawkins: “Robert Hawkins.”

Sarah: “Sarah Mason.”

Victor: “Alright, let’s get down to it, we have a lot of ground to cover. As most of you know a shipment of nukes from project Redbell is missing. What you don’t know if that we have quality intel that warheads have been converted into twenty-five small high yield devices. These bombs have been dismantled to extremist’s cells active within the United States.”

Sarah: “So is this Al-Qaida?”

Victor: “I wish it were that simple, its much larger than that. It’s a cross section of domestic militia, anarchists and religious fanatics. As you can see these are terrorists that would never collaborate ideologically or politically. The only thing that links them is the desire to take down the Federal Government. Out job is to get undercover in these cells and find these bombs.”

Hawkins: “So who do we think is orchestrating this?”

Victor: “The agency’s been at this from every angle and all we know is that he’s got deep resources and ability to coordinate diverse groups. And by all identification, he’s an American.”

(Hawkins Basement Flashback Ends)

Hawkins: We were broken up into groups of two, each unit was uh, assigned a terrorist cell. One agent went undercover one acted as handler.

Jake: You can’t expect me to believe you were sent here undercover. What’s so special about this place?

Hawkins: You know I could show you but… (moves his hands with the handcuffs on them)

Jake: That’s clever.

Hawkins: It’s over there behind the map, yeah.

(Jake pulls out a large map - it shows safe zones on it)

Jake: Where’d you get this?

Hawkins: Those are Defense Department Projections, they’ve been doin ’em since the fifty’s. See Jericho, it’s outside the fall out zone Jake. It’s got a salt mine, plenty of farmlands and access to untainted water.

Jake: So you weren’t here to monitor phone calls?

Hawkins: Jericho was a rally point incase we failed in our mission.

Jake: Failed or succeeded?

(Cemetery - Mary’s grave sight)

Gail: And Johnston was… he wanted to come, I know he did. He’s just having a hard time dealing with things lately. He always gets quiet, he’s going through something but I just wish I could think of something to help him get through this. I miss you sweetheart.

(Richmond Farm)

Sean: There’s no more sprouts.

Mimi: You finished them?

Sean: I was hungry.

Mimi: Wait a second, what, what are you doing here? It’s like 9:30 in the morning. (she notices he’s only in his boxers) Oh my, you slept here?

Sean: Well actually there wasn’t a whole lot of sleeping going on.

Mimi: Get outta the house.

(Bonnie walks down in here pajamas)

Mimi: What are you doing? You let him spend the night?

Bonnie: Yes.

Mimi: That doesn’t seem like something Stanley would approve of now does it?

Bonnie: Stanley’s not here.

(Hawkins Basement)

Jake: Just like that you infiltrated a terror cell planning a nuclear attack?

Hawkins: Yeah, just like that. It took me two years, eight months of it in prison developing contacts, getting into the network. The only outside person I communicated with was my handler. After prison I spent another year trying to gain their trust on the outside and even then I was only scratching the surface.

Jake: But you got in?

Hawkins: Yeah, yeah.

Jake: How?

Hawkins: They were looking for high grade Government ID’s.

Jake: You gave them their badges?

Hawkins: I had to prove that I was loyal and valuable to the cell Jake.

Jake: I think I’ve heard enough.

Hawkins: No, No! We barely scratched the surface. You’re the one that wanted to hear this, so why don’t you hear it all.

(Hawkins is quietly picking the lock on his handcuffs)

Hawkins: The cell was lookin for ID’s and I needed to get higher up in their organization, so I let it be known that I had a source. See the badges were gonna be tagged so that my team could track ‘em. They sent me to make the buy with another cell member, it was a kid named Darrel.

(Flashback - Night a parking lot)

Darrel: “How do we know these are real?”

Man: “There real enough.”

Darrel: “Where’d you get ‘em from?”

Man: “Where I got these badges is my business, what you do with ‘em is yours.”

(The man counts some money in a suitcase)

Man: “Nice doin business with you.”

Hawkins: “You too.”

Darrel: “We should celebrate man, go out get some girls except you don’t really seem like the type, all serious. You married?”

Hawkins: “I was.”

Darrel: “Really, what happened?”

(Helicopters and FBI Agents show up)

Hawkins: “Hey, what the hell is goin on here?”

FBI Agent: “Hold it right there.”

(Hawkins pulls up Darrel’s shirt, he’s wearing a wire)

Darrel: “I’m sorry man.”

Hawkins: “You’ve gotta be kidding me.”

FBI Agent: “FBI, hands in the air, back against the car.”

Hawkins Voice: It turns out Darrel was an FBI informant, but my handler got me out and we kept my cover intact.

(CIA Office)

Hawkins: “So the FBI have an informant in my target cell and they can’t tell us anything about that? You know I am damn lucky that my cover wasn’t blown.”

Woman: “Your cover is intact yes?”

Hawkins: “Yeah we believe so.”

Woman: “Then let’s move on. Haveyou been able to make contact with those coordinating the attack?”

Hawkins: “No, but at this stage I recommend that we take down the cells that we’ve already infiltrated. You know at the very least they’ll disrupt the overall plan maybe delay it for a while.”

Mr. Valante: “How many bombs can you get?”

Hawkins: “A third for sure, half if we’re lucky. Look, I know it’s not ideal but at this stage it’s the safest move.”

Sarah: “That’s still a dozen bombs in play Mr. Valante.”

Hawkins: (He looks at Sarah) “What are you doin?”

Sarah: “I just think there’s a way to speed this up and get all the bombs at once.”

Hawkins: “Yeah, we agreed that it was…”

Mr. Valante: (He interrupts them) “Do you mind?”

Sarah: “I think there may be a way to get us further inside. My partner tells the cell leader that Darrel is the FBI informant, that gives him the credibility that he needs to move up faster.”

Woman: “Then let us handle the FBI and do what ever is necessary to save the operation.”

(Sarah is talking to Mr. Valante)

Sarah: “It’s still gonna take some time but we’re close.”

Mr. Valante: “Ok, we’re counting on you and you know the risks.” (Hawkins walks away Sarah goes up to him)

Hawkins: “You better be right about this.”

Sarah: “This is the right way to go, trust me.”

(End of Flashback - Hawkins Basement)

Hawkins: What would you have done? Stayed in or pulled the plug?

Jake: Seems like the wrong question to me. I’d ask myself how much I trusted my partner.

(Middle of Woods - Gail walks to where Johnston is)

Gail: Well, if I can sneak up here without you so much as turning around, how are you going to hear any game?

Johnston: I heard you a half mile back in those shoes.

Gail: You said you’d come to see April today. (He doesn’t answer) Fine, you comin home for dinner? (Again no answer) There are no deer in these woods, they’ve all been picked clean.

Johnston: Than I guess I’ll be here a while.

(Richmond Farm - Mimi is talking to a chicken)

Mimi: You know, I never wanted to be a mom. I didn’t sign up for this, but you know what you’re right, I owe it to Stanley so I’m just gonna have to jump in with both feet whether she wants to hear from me or not. Ahh, listen to me going on about my own problems, you must be ready to take this hatchet and do the damn job yourself.

(Sean and Bonnie ride up on horses - Sean signs something to Bonnie and goes in the house)

Mimi: I didn’t know he knew how to sign. What’d he say to you? (Bonnie just looks at her) Never mind. Look, that boy is bad news. Now I can’t stop you from seeing him but he is no longer welcome in this house, do you understand me?

(Bonnie gives her a look and walks away)

(School House)

Emily: Hey Allison. So why do you feel like you can’t hang around at home? You don’t have to talk to me if you won’t want.

Allison: It’s not that I don’t want to talk about it, it’s just my family’s pretty weird.

Emily: My family was pretty weird too. In fact when I was your age I didn’t want to hang out with them either.

Allison: And what about now?

Emily: Their gone.

Allison: There’s this thing that went down at my house a couple weeks ago, I did something.

Emily: Ok, what’d you do?

Allison: I did something that can’t be forgiven, now my mom just keep’s looking at me like I changed into some kind of monster or something.

Emily: You know you haven’t right?

(Hawkins Basement)

Jake: So, even though you weren’t sure about the plan you outted the informant to the cell leader?!

Hawkins: Once we decided to leave the bombs in play it was the only way for me to get deep enough into the cell to gain their trust. I told the cell leader that Darrel was an informer, but I wanted to get him out of there before they killed him.

(Flashback - Apartment Building)

Hawkins: “Come on, grab what you need and lets go.”

Darrel: “They are gonna hunt me down and their gonna kill me.”

Hawkins: “This is your lucky day Darrel, their gonna get you into the witness protection so don’t worry. I’m gonna get you outta here.”

(Knock at the door)

Hawkins: “Stay here.”

Man: “Darrel.”

Hawkins: “Damn it.”

Darrel: “What is it?”

Man: “Darrel we just wanna talk.”

Hawkins: “The cell leader.”

(Darrel and Hawkins climb out a window down the fire escape - Darrel jumps and breaks his leg)

Darrel: “You gotta get me outta this thing.”

Hawkins: “Run, I’ll tell them that you got away.”

Darrel: “I think my leg is broken. Help me or I’m gonna tell them who you really are.”

Hawkins: “I’m sorry.” (He shoots Darrel and places the gun in his hand to make it look like a suicide)

(Men run up)

(Flashback Ends)

Hawkins: So I finally gained their trust, I was in.

Jake: You killed him.

Hawkins: It was either kill him or possibly let millions of people die.

Jake: They died anyway.

(Noise from outside - Hawkins gets out of his handcuffs and tackles Jake, he takes the gun and knocks Jake to the floor - Jimmy calls from upstairs)

Jimmy: Jake, you still down there?

Hawkins: Call him off.

Jake: You’re not helping your cause any by keeping that gun in my face.

Jimmy: Hey Jake?

Hawkins: Do not make me kill him Jake.

(Jimmy begins to walk down the stairs)

Jake: Alright, alright!

Jimmy: Jake?

Hawkins: Move. (He grabs Jake and pulls him to his feet)

Jimmy: What’s going on Jake?

Jake: We just need a little more time that’s all.

Jimmy: You sure?

Jake: Yeah, year we’re alright.

Hawkins: Hey.

Jimmy: Alright, I’m out front.

Jake: Ok.

(Jimmy leaves and Hawkins points his gun at Jake)

Hawkins: Turn around Jake. (Hawkins takes the other gin out of Jakes belt) Ok. (He disarms the guns and puts them down) It is not about this anymore we’re past this, starting now we trust each other.

Jake: Than you need to tell me everything.

Hawkins: Done tellin, now I gotta show you.

(Outside Town Hall - Allison walks up to her mom)

Allison: What are you doing here?

Darcy: It’s your first day at a new school, you know the last time you had one of those Sam was in diapers. Doesn’t look like you had a big turnout.

Allison: Nope, most people left early.

Darcy: I guess you know better then hmm.

Allison: I figured you really didn’t want me around the house anyway.

Darcy: Why would you say that?

Allison: You know, cause of what I did.
Darcy: Now listen I love you ok, nothing will change that. (She hugs Allison) Hear me baby? Nothin will change that, you’re my little girl.

Allison: (She starts crying) Mom please don’t be mad at me, please don’t be mad at me mom. I’m sorry, I’m so sorry mom.

(Hawkins garage, he is pulling up floor boards)

Jake: Here’s the part I don’t get.

Hawkins: What?

Jake: If you’re telling the truth you made it, you made it deep inside the cell, you gained their trust.

(Hawkins nods his head yes)

Jake: Right, then what happened?

Hawkins: Somebody tipped off the terrorists Jake. Before we could find out who the terrorists moved up their plan.

(Flashback - Hawkins is driving and talking on a cell phone)

Hawkins: “Yeah Rickman, we made a mistake a very big mistake.”

(Flashback - Warehouse - Other terrorists around - Hawkins is holding a piece of paper that say’s Columbus, Ohio)

Cell Leader: “This is the moment we prepared for, the strike will go off tomorrow at precisely 8:05 Eastern.”

(Flashback - Hawkins Driving)

Hawkins: “Ok, no listen. The trucks there white, license plate Kansas, Five, Four, Three, George, Union, Ida, New York…”

Hawkins Voice Over: I tried to warn the agency but we were to late.

(Flashback ends - Hawkins is digging)

Hawkins: Some of the bombs were meant for New York, we managed to head ‘em off. Even after four years of work I couldn’t stop all of ‘em and I’m gonna have to live with that for the rest of my life.

(Flashback from beginning - Hawkins and Darcy out for an evening)

Darcy: “Since when have you been funny?”

Hawkins: “Hey, I have always been funny.”

Darcy: “Yeah not for a long time.”

(She gets into taxi, Hawkins sees a man across the street)

Darcy: “What is it Rob? Rob?”

Hawkins: I won’t be long. (He walks over to the man)

Victor: “I’m not interrupting am I?”

Hawkins: “You know you are.”

Victor: “Well you weren’t exactly returning our calls.”

Hawkins: “I told my wife I was done, I promised her Victor.”

Victor: “We need you back.”

Hawkins: “Why me?”

Victor: “Because you’re the best at what you do.”

Hawkins: “Which is what?”

Victor: “Your family will be there when you get back. Teams meeting tomorrow, come listen to what this is all about. If you want to walk away after that walk away. Two o’clock tomorrow, tell the desk clerk you have an appointment with Mr. Higgins and if they ask about the weather tell ‘em it’s gonna rain.”

(Victor walks away and Darcy walks up)

Darcy: “Who was that?”

(Hawkins kisses her)

Hawkins: “I might need to go to a meeting tomorrow.”

Darcy: “You can’t keep doing this, you can’t.” (She walks away)

Hawkins: “Hey, we’ll be fine Dee.”

(End of flashback)

Jake: What is that?

Hawkins: It’s the end of the rabbit hole Jake. Give me a hand with this, uh it’s heavy.

(Jake looks down at the bomb in shock)

Hawkins: So you believe me now?

Jake: Is that what I think it is?

Hawkins: It was meant for Columbus, Ohio.

Jake: You brought a nuclear bomb here?!

Hawkins: What would you have done with it?

Jake: What are you gonna do with it?

Hawkins: I’m gonna keep it safe, I’m gonna keep it secret, you know because it gives the town some power Jake but it also makes them a target and… Look, I know what you’re thinking, you’re wishing you walked away when I gave you the chance right?
Jake: Why didn’t you just show me this when I walked in the door today?

Hawkins: You didn’t walk in.

(Jimmy calls from outside)

Jimmy: Jake. Hey, Jake?

Hawkins: I’ve been watching you Jake and you can handle yourself and I’ve seen what a help you’ve been to this town, but I needed to know I could trust you. That you could handle it if I told you everything.

(Jake is still in disbelief)

Jimmy: Jake.

Hawkins: Ok, this bomb it’s our burden now. What ever happens next that is going to be up to you, ok?

(Hawkins walks out of the garage followed by Jake)

Jake: He’s FBI just like you said.

Jimmy: But…

Jake: We’re in good hands.

Jimmy: That’s good to hear. Sorry about all this Mr. Hawkins.

(Richmond Farm - Mimi walks in the house with a dead chicken, she’s covered in blood - drops the chicken and hatchet in the sink)

Bonnie: We do that um, outside.

Mimi: Ok, I didn’t know that. There’s something I want to say to you um, but I’m still learning so just please bear with me. (She signs and speaks at the same time) Stanley is important to me, you are important to me. I want you to be safe, so please be patient with me. I’m trying.

Bonnie: (Speaks and signs) I’ll try too.

Mimi: So…hug? (She holds open her arms, Bonnie looks at the blood on her shirt) Right.

(Forest - Johnston climbs up the watch post and finds Gail sitting there)

Gail: I brought you some dinner.

Johnston: Thank you.

(Gail smiles and leaves)

(Hawkins Bedroom - He is lying in bed - We hear past memories going though his head)

Hawkins: “You are damn lucky that my cover wasn’t blown, damn lucky…”

Victor: “We need you back…”

Woman: “You’re cover is intact?”

Hawkins: “We believe so…”

Victor: “We need you back…”

Woman: “Than lets move on.”

Hawkins: “But at this stage I recommend…”

Victor: “We need you back…”

Hawkins: “Take down the cells that have already been infiltrated, disrupt the over all plan…”

Victor: “We need you back…”

(Hawkins Basement - He takes down a picture of a man and pulls up a file of Mr. Higgins on his computer)

(Flashback - FBI Conference Room)

Mr. Higgins: “How many of the bombs can you get?”

(End of flashback - Hawkins is looking at satellite footage from the warehouse he realizes Mr. Higgins might be involved)
